hito is a tiny tienda  specializing in  heirloom-quality jewelry and useful and unusual homeware located in Pollenca, Mallorca.The store is a carefully curated collection of textiles hecho de mano in Mallorca, crafts by our favorite Brooklyn artisans, and interesting antiquities.

Who: Owners Gillian Conroy and Danica Wilcox have run a successful jewelry business-Conroy & Wilcox jewelry- in New York City for the past 7 years. Hito is an independently-owned, Mallorca based company and their first store.
Why: In 2010 Danica Wilcox fell in love with the Trumantana mountains and the artisanal traditions of Mallorca while visiting to work on an organic farm. Wilcox spent much of 2011 dreaming of how to relocate so she could live and work in Pollenca, Mallorca. In March she made the move and hito opened May 19th, 2012

INTRODUCIÓN AL ARTE DE PERFUMERÍA AROMATERAPEUTICA

Como crear tu propio perfume y que se puede hacer con el? En este taller te ensañamos los pasos para crear y utilizar tu propia esencia aromaterapeutica. Aprenderás como extraer y conservar el gel de áloe vera para su uso cosmético. Y como ultimo toque – elaboraremos también un jabón personalizado con tu esencia y con diferentes ingredientes según su uso – hidratar, nutrir, exfoliar...tu elijes!

APRENDE:
• A crear tu propia esencia aromaterapeutica - la base de un perfume
• A extraer el gel de áloe vera puro, conservarlo y utilizarlo como un cosmético
• A elaborar tu jabón personalizado con tu perfume y según necesites hidratar, nutrir o exfoliar el cuerpo
Al fin del taller te llevarás a casa tu propio “miniparfum”, 250ml de loción de aloe vera para hidratar y refrescas la piel y una gama de jabones hechos por ti, que te preparamos para recoger en nuestra tienda GAIA bathtime cuando sequen en una semana.

INTRODUCTION TO THE ART OF AROMATHERAPEUTIC PERFUMERY

How to make your your first own perfume and what to do with it? In this workshop you can learn the basics of creating and working with aromatherapeutic blend. Also we will show you how can you extract aloe vera gel, use it and preserve it with your blend for cosmetic purposes. And as final touch you will be making a personalized soap scented with your own essence with addition of extra exfoliating ingredients.

LEARN TO:

• create your own unique aromatherapeutic blend – a perfume base.
• extract pure aloe vera gel, preserve it and use for cosmetic purpose
• make your own personalized soap with your unique perfume
• turn a basic soap blend into a wonderful scented exfoliation soap bar

TAKE HOME YOUR NEW GOODIES:

At the end of the workshop you can take home your “perfume” to scent your pulsation points, 250ml of purest aloe vera lotion to use for hydrating and cooling your skin and a set of excellent soaps ready to collect at GAIA bathtime shop as soon as they are dry and out of the molds.

In May we will enjoy the great outdoors on an enigmatic rooftop in the old town. The sunset, the breeze on your face and opening your eyes into the night lights of Palma when shavasana´s over... what more to say.

This is a very unique opportunity to practice yoga in syntony with your surroundings, enjoy amazing views as the day turns into night around you.

FOR WHO This yoga class open to all levels available as drop in class 15€, please book in advance or to all our yoga bono holders.

WHERE We meet in GAIA at 8pm and walk together from there.

WHAT TO BRING Your own yoga mat, (if you don´t have any, you can order one from us), warm clothes and a blanket for the final relaxation
