Christmas Markets Andraitx, Mancor de Vall, Alaro and Palma

Gaia Christmas Shopping this weekend.
Christmas coming closer and closer and here are your last opportunities to have a look at what Gaia has to offer if you don t fancy coming into Palma.
The island is seeing more and more of the traditional Christmas markets that we know from Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Gluhwein, traditional foods, Christmas biscuits and tree decorations and beautiful handcrafted small gifts. It is nice to see that this tradition is taking foot on our island. It give small traders and crafts people an opportunity to show what they produce and makes a refreshing change from the high- street corporate giants.

1 December Trudi will be at the Christmas Market in Andraitx's Plaza

30thNovember / 1 December  our Rosa is at Manocor de Vall for the anual Mushroom Festival

14th & 15th of December again Trudi at the Christams Market in Alaro

3rd of December until after the Reyes you will find various members of the Gaia Team on the Ramblas in Palma, with the anual Christmas Market.

The Palma lights are fabulous as always and it is well worth an evening in the city. A little shopping, a little Gluhwein, the Palma Christmas lights... nothing better to get into the Christmas spirit. We will have a great selection of perfect small Christmas gifts with us and as it is by now customary we will treat our clients to a glass of cava when you visit our stalls.

Looking forward to seeing you!

Ayurveda in Gaia

Ayurveda (Sanskrit Āyurveda आयुर्वेद, "life-knowledge"; English pronunciation /ˌ.ərˈvdə/[1])

'Grounding', 'Calming' and' Invigorating'
Oils, Soaps and Mood Mists made to the Ayurvedic Principles
to support  'Vata', 'Pitta'  and 'Kapha' types

Blanca, our resident Gaia Therapist has just come back from an extended sabatical to India. During her 7 month travel of 8 Indian states in an effort to find a perfect location for her next project she found the time to study some Ayurvedic Basics. Back now in Mallorca and staying at the Gaia Finca, Blanca and I have been working on a basic Ayurvedic range. Our idea is to develop an Ayurvedic inspired range with herbs and spices from India but also from our more imediate enviroment, our Island of Mallorca.

Lots of early evening consultations and discussions under the
Jasmine Stars and the New Moon.

We are looking to make 3 Body Massage Oils to be
                                                         1. Grounding
                                                          2.Invigorating
                                                          3. Calming
Complimented with three soaps to match and finaly a Mood Mist to finish the Ritual.

This Ayurvedic Range would be recommended for use twice a year to detox, boost the immune system and give the body a thorough pampering and loving!
The chosen massage oil should be applied in self, all over massage and then, in the shower the soap will be used to removed the small unabsorbed oil residues. To finish the ritual immerse yourself into a cloud of mood mist.

The finished Oils

Blanca has been decocting her selection of herbs, spices and plants ready for mixing and reducing into oils. As base oils we have chosen to cook in Sesame Seed Oil and then blend each of the 3 oils down with a virgin oil mixed with enhancing essential oils to make a deeply detoxing, healing and skin toning and soothing Ayurvedic Oil Blend.
For the soaps we are mixing the same selection of herbs and spices into the soap blend as active, exfoliating ingredients. The result has given us 3 beautifully coloured and quite distinctly different soaps.
Our final stage but also the crowning part of this range is the mood mist which carries all the Vata, Pitta Kapha related herbs and spices as essential oils which enter through the skin and give an all over feeling of wellness and balance to carry you through the day.
